Oh man, I am getting dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming. My sister is sending me an XM satellite radio. My previous post where I called myself a luddite was because I didn't see the point of these newfangled satellite radio thingamajigs and everyone I knew was buying them.

I don't want it either.

I can't understand the point in paying for radio, even if it is commercial free. I can make my own compilations if I want a genre-based playlist and at very least I will know I like the music.

Regarding commercial-free, I am convinced that they used to use that as a selling point for cable TV, didn't they?

Re: I don't want it either.

Especially since it costs $13 a month. Since I am getting the radio for free, though, I think I'll sign up to try it. I doubt I will keep it for long, but I am going skiing for a week in February and it will give me something to play with.

All I can say is, hahaha. You will be forced to pay to listen to the radio. I guess it's lucky that you just broke the one in the car on Saturday, now isn't it? ;)

mmm-hmmm

All I know is that on the 6 AM plane flight you can expect to hear "I'm sorry honey, did you say something? I was busy listening to my new XM radio."

Re: mmm-hmmm

Yeah I guess I'll just have to listen to the music that's already on my shuffle, and it will have the same effect. Except I won't be paying for the privilege on a monthly basis :-P But seriously, it is a nice random gift from Jamie.

iPods are cheaper and better. Tell her to send you and iPod. And me too, while she's at it. ;-)
